Where Should You Live in Broward County? A Neighborhood-by-Neighborhood Breakdown

SEO title: Where to Live in Broward County: 2026 Neighborhood Guide
Meta description: From Fort Lauderdale to Parkland to Weston, here's a local agent's honest breakdown of Broward County's best areas to help you pick the right fit.

Broward County is big, and "should we live in Broward?" is really a dozen different decisions. The county stretches from the beach to the edge of the Everglades, and each city has its own personality. Here's my honest, plain-language tour to help you narrow it down.

Fort Lauderdale — the beachy, urban heart

Walkable downtown, gorgeous beaches, boating everywhere. Best for people who want lifestyle and energy, from young professionals to families in the right pockets.

Parkland — the family favorite

Consistently one of the most sought-after family towns in the county. Top schools, gated communities, big homes, and a safe, planned feel. If schools are your top priority and you want newer construction, start here.

Coral Springs — value and community

Right next to Parkland but often more attainable. Great parks, strong community programs, and family-friendly through and through. A lot of buyers who love Parkland but want more house for the money land here.

Weston — polished and planned

Master-planned, immaculate, and very family-oriented, with excellent schools. It feels a bit like its own bubble, in the best way, though it's farther from the beach.

Davie — space and a little country

Where you go if you want land, maybe some horses, and a more laid-back pace while staying central. Areas like Long Lake Ranches and the ranch neighborhoods are unique in South Florida.

Wilton Manors & Oakland Park — vibrant and central

Walkable, diverse, and full of character, with easy access to downtown Fort Lauderdale. Popular with professionals and anyone who wants personality and value.

The coastal cities — Pompano, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Hollywood

Beach living at a range of price points. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is charming and small; Hollywood has its famous Broadwalk; Pompano is having a real moment with new development.

So where should you live?

It comes down to three things: schools, commute, and how much beach-versus-space you want. Tell me your priorities and your budget, and I can usually match you to two or three cities that fit. That's my favorite part of this job — let's find yours.
